Interview Summary
Robert Levering was born in 1944 in Kansas City, Kansas. He moved to New York City and attended high school there. He attended Swarthmore University where he was exposed to Quaker ideas. In 1966, he began protesting and organizing against the Vietnam War after graduating from university. He later attended Crozer school of theology which hosted the Martin Luther King Jr. School of Social Change. He graduated from the MLK School of Social Change. He took part in several protests and direct actions from 1966-1973.Interview Accession
