The Alfalfa Oral History Project
Project Summary
This is a series of interviews with former employees, owners and patrons of the famed Alfalfa Restaurant in Lexington, Kentucky. The series documents the social and community history of a collective run, community-based restaurant that opened in 1973 on a shoestring and survived for 47 years. The first interviews were conducted the week after the restaurant held its 50th Anniversary gathering in Lexington, Kentucky on November 5, 2023. The interviews will continue to be collected through the next few years.Project Code
