Interview Summary

Ashley Netherton (Senegal, 2003-2005; Agriculture: Forestry) begins the interview by discussing her educational background and early life. Netherton then describes the Peace Corps application process. The interviewee shares her first impressions of Dakar. Netherton also explains the training process she underwent in preparation for her Peace Corps assignment. Subsequently, Netherton describes her living situation, and her counterpart and his family. Netherton details working in agroforestry in Senegal, helping in a clinic, and traveling and interacting with Senegalese people. Netherton also highlights a typical day she had during her assignment. In addition, Netherton discusses the impact of the Peace Corps, both personally and in general.
