Interview Summary
Marie Cirillo describes her decades of experience working with coal miners in Appalachia. She talks about her passion for understanding the reasons why miners were migrating to cities and why they had difficulty assimilating there. She describes the work of the non-profit organizations in which she worked over the years and the different ways they tried to help the rural population in the region.
