Interview Summary

Gavin Duerson, the first mascot at the University of Kentucky to take on the role of Scratch, discusses his time spent at the university and how he came to play the very first Scratch. He talks about switching to the Wildcat, as well as shares some of his positive and negative experiences as the mascot. He also discusses the trend of putting clothing on the Wildcat and how he worked that trend to his advantage. He tells a story about skiing for the first time in Salt Lake City, Utah as well as talks about the mascot national championships, the nonverbal rule, and T. Lynn Williamson's leadership.
