Interview Summary
Anne Braden was a white southern anti-racist activist, organizer and journalist from Louisville, Kentucky. In this interview, Braden discusses her high school and college years. She describes attending two women's colleges in Virginia during World War II, Stratford College and Randolph-Macon Woman's College. Braden speaks about experiencing an intellectual awakening while at Stratford and her interests in writing and drama. Braden also talks about influential people she met while in college, particularly Harriet Fitzgerald.Interview Accession
