Interview Summary
Jeffrey Craddock, the son of a career military officer, grew up mostly in Lexington, KY. and lived with his grandparents in mother after his parents divorced. His mother graduated from Transylvania University with a degree in English but worked as a secretary after attending Fugazzi Business School. Jeffrey graduated from Henry Clay High School in 1964 and enrolled at the University of Kentucky in the fall of that year. In this interview he discusses the civil rights movement, values learned from his parents, Lexington politics, and his father's advice regarding avoiding the Vietnam War, student attire at U.K. in 1964, the Draft, his decision to enroll at U.K., being a "townie", getting his first apartment in the Zandale area, and his early U.K. experiences.Interview Accession
