Interview Summary
Hazel Nunn describes her experience of being a coal miner's wife in Harlan County (Ky.). She recollects the constant worry about her husband's safety, the development of labor unions, and the health care benefits she receives from her husband's job even after his death. She talks about the social life in coal camps, especially the role of churches and one's neighbors. She also gives her opinion of coal companies and the coal industry in general.Interview Accession
