Interview Summary

Matt Gray's parents taught him to deliver babies and to treat illnesses. He describes various treatments and remedies used by the mountain people and provides extensive commentary on the use of herbs. Gray contributes his recollections of Mary Breckinridge and praises the benefits provided by the FNS nurses. He also comments upon changes in the FNS over the years and tells why he thinks the FNS should not charge for home visits.
