Interview Summary
Jean Schensul talks about her life and career as an anthropologist. She talks about growing up in a Jewish community and how it played a role in her interest and exploration of cultures. She recollects a class in 8th grade where she knew she was going to become an anthropologist. Schensul traces her academic career and her influences along the way. Next, Schensul talks about her own career and the many places she has traveled around the world because of it. Finally, she tells future anthropology students some tips for success. Schensul ends the interview by hoping for a future where different disciplines come together for the greater good of anthropology. Art and science and the humanities working in tandem to better support and serve their communities.Interview Accession
