Interview Summary
Richard Cooper, Senator Cooper's younger brother, begins the interview by discussing their experiences in World War II. Cooper also briefly talks of his other brother's service in World War II. Cooper details Senator Cooper's first marriage during World War II. Cooper recalls some of the girlfriends that his brother had before his first marriage. Cooper discusses the background of Senator Cooper's first wife, including her daughter that Senator Cooper offered to take care of later in her life. Cooper then describes his brother's second wife, Lorraine Cooper. Cooper compares Senator Cooper's first and second wife. Cooper reflects upon settling his brother's estate and affairs. Lorraine Cooper's family background is examined. Lorraine Cooper and her role as a political wife in her husband's career is evaluated.
