Interview Summary

Maria Coyle (b. 2003) grew up in Worcester, Pennsylvania with a stable and financially successful family. At age 16, she used her own money to create a business, Princess Parties by Maria, where she dressed up as a princess to entertain the children of clients. Maria’s business and education were upended by the Covid-19 Pandemic. In her 2022 interview, she discussed her early life and high school, including the concurrent presence of social media and mental health issues. She also talks about adapting both her business and education to virtual formats, all in the context of public health concerns and political upheaval.
