Interview Summary

Scott Sykes grew up in Elkhorn City, Kentucky and shares some of his childhood memories of playing in the mountains and at Breaks Interstate Park. He describes the town during his childhood and discusses how it has changed, for better and worse. He talks about some of the issues affecting Elkhorn City, including stagnation in leadership, strict alcohol legislation which limits economic opportunities, and the out migration of younger generations in search of better employment. He talks about the Artists Collaborative Theatre and its positive impact on the young people in the area.
