Interview Summary

Tara L. Loyd (Lesotho, 1999-2000; Education Program) discusses her motivation for applying to the Peace Corps, training in-country, and her first job in special education. She describes children with whom she worked and her development of the first HIV/AIDS workshops in Lesotho. Loyd talks about travel in South Africa and her difficult time returning home to Kentucky. She also describes return trips to Lesotho to help in an orphanage and to take a medical student and Kentucky Kernel staff from the University of Kentucky. In addition, Loyd discusses another volunteer who adopted three orphans from Lesotho.
