Interview Summary
Fields describes what Midway was like when she was a child, including how everyone knew and looked out for each other. Her parents were Christian and strict. She describes her education, but says she never graduated. She discusses her first and second marriages and her children. She discusses her curtain business and taking care of her elderly parents. She goes into detail about her church work for the Methodist church. Fields and her sister Pinky McIntyre Kennedy describe various events and meetings at the school, including speech competitions, recitations, plays, and spelling bees, as well as Black History Month.
