Interview Summary

Jack Cooke talks about how he began playing music during his childhood with his brothers. He talks about joining The Stanley Brothers and the Clinch Mountain Boys and tells several humorous stories about touring with the band. He talks about leaving the Stanley Brothers to work for Bill Monroe and talks about playing on the Grand Ole Opry. He talks about his experiences recording albums with the Stanley Brothers and Bill Monroe. He talks about the wax and wane of the popularity of bluegrass, offers advice to young bluegrass musicians, and discusses other aspects of his long bluegrass career.
