Interview Summary
Dickey describes his friendship with fellow writer and Southerner Robert Penn Warren. The versatility of Warren's writing is highlighted, as well as philosophical comparisons between the literature of Dickey and that of Warren. Warren's ties to the South, and the effects of this on his work are explored. It is found that Warren has several universal themes in his literary canon. Lastly, Dickey chronicles the literary criticism of Warren, the author's source material, and the essence of his poetry.Interview Accession
