Interview Summary
Jim Master talks about his childhood in Indiana, his family, and their decision to move to Fort Wayne so he could play basketball. He tells the story of learning he had been named Indiana's Mr. Basketball. He talks about the colleges that recruited him while he was in high school. Master talks about his fellow teammates in his incoming freshman class in 1980. He talks about his impressions, memories, and relationships with his teammates. He describes particular games from his four seasons at UK, including those against Indiana University, Notre Dame, Auburn, Middle Tennessee State, Illinois, and the "dream game" against Louisville. He talks about his teammates and their abilities. He discusses the SEC and NCAA tournaments for each year. He describes the uniqueness of playing basketball for the University of Kentucky due to the fans.Interview Accession
