Interview Summary
This near hour-long film titled "Scenes and Activities on the Home Farm in the Bluegrass Region Kentucky" is narrated by J. Hughes Evans. The footage, mostly 8mm color film, was shot by his brother, William, as early as 1937. The film explores a variety of operations on the Evans family farm that include cultivation and harvest of Bluegrass seed, tobacco, corn, and hay as well as the raising of cattle, sheep, chickens, and turkeys. The latter half of the film finds J. Hughes Evans and his brother (William perhaps), along with other unidentified family members, in May 1989 exploring the Evans family graves beside the Christian Church in North Middletown, Kentucky, as well as the family farm and home place called "Pretty Run Farm."Interview Accession
