Interview Summary

Garry Pollock was adopted to a large family in Huntington County, PA. He joined the Air Force in 1971 and volunteered to be a PJ or Pararescue Jumper. Gary deployed to Vietnam in 1972 and was stationed outside of Saigon. He and his team were grouped with Army Special Forces and were sent in after downed pilots and pinned troops. After Vietnam, Gary worked as a crew chief on various aircraft until 1975. Upon leaving the Air Force he worked on farm equipment in New Holland, PA then became a corrections officer in Huntington County Prison. He would retire from there. Today he lives in Jamestown, PA with his wife Marge.
