Interview Summary
Mike Key interviews Everette Varney on his life, including his teaching and coaching career and his three terms as mayor of Georgetown, Kentucky. Varney talks about growing up in Eastern Kentucky in a coal mining town and the hardship the family endured when the coal mine closed. He discusses his education and how he came to teach and coach in Scott County before entering mayoral politics and serving three terms.
