Interview Summary

Director, educator, activist, and performer Vanessa Becker Weig talks about her roll as Artistic Director at the Woodford Theatre in Versailles, Kentucky when the COVID-19 pandemic closed the U.S. and its economy, how the theater handled the shutdown, and how she recovered her life and livelihood after being furloughed. Weig talks at length about her passion project "Voices Amplified," and her love of being in the company of and teaching young people. She also talks about the ways she stays inspired, the support system she has around her, and her thoughts on the future of theater.
