Interview Summary

Brian Dugas served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Tanzania from 2018 to 2020. Prior to Peace Corps, Brian had a career in education and law enforcement and he had engaged in a lifetime of volunteer service. As he approached retirement, his forty-year dream of joining Peace Corps was finally possible. Dugas’s training cohort was HE/AG 2018. His pre-service training in language, culture, and technical training was conducted in Morogoro. His site assignment was in the village of Negezi in the Shinyanga District working in local healthcare training a group to serve as First Responders in the village. Dugas also engaged in secondary projects in nutrition improvement and planting Moringa trees. Dugas was completing the last few weeks of his two-year service when he was evacuated due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
