Interview Summary
Natalia Joseph was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Ukraine from 2019 to 2020. As an Education volunteer, she worked as an EFL teacher in a multicultural town located near the Ukraine-Moldova border. Joseph joined the Peace Corps upon completing undergraduate degrees in Anthropology and Russian. She discusses experiences such as learning Ukrainian language during Peace Corps training, living with host families in two different communities, teaching students from 3rd to 10th grade, and collaborating with colleagues. Joseph also talks at length about the March 2020 evacuation due to the emerging Covid-19 pandemic, and she reflects on the future and benefits of the Peace Corps.Interview Accession
