Interview Summary

Dr. John Maher was a Captain, US Army Medical Corps, and was assigned to what used to be called a Civil Affairs/Military Government (CAMG) in Vietnam from 1962-1963. He talks about his experiences as a doctor during the war and his personal accounts of what he witnessed. His story is told from before the war as a student studying to become a doctor, to his time in Vietnam, and finally what he accomplished after the war. He has a unique account of the Vietnam War because he was there early on and witnessed what few veterans have.
