Interview Summary

James Cain and Howard Day are Donovan Scholars at the University of Kentucky. They describe their backgrounds, spanning the years 1935 to 2012, with personal stories about their childhood, college years, careers, and retirement. Both men were born to working-class parents, are first-generation college students, and had careers as leaders; Howard in education and James in business. Both men praised the Donovan program and its administrator Sharye Davis.
