Interview Summary
Caitlin Rampy served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in North Macedonia from 2017 to 2020. Prior to Peace Corps, Caitlin was a special needs Teaching Assistant - Public Elementary School in Texas. During her time at the University of Houston, Caitlin began to actively consider the possibility of serving in Peace Corps. She applied in the fall of 2016 and joined the MAK22 training cohort’s departure a year later. Caitlin's pre-service training in language, culture, and technical training was conducted in the city of Vatasha. Her site assignment was in the community of Volkovo in the capital city of Skopje providing Inclusive Education support at a primary school. Caitlin also engaged in secondary projects in English language training where she promoted interethnic dialogue through an innovative pen pal project involving more than 200 students. Caitlin extended her service for a third year and was a few months into her extension when she was evacuated due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Following her Peace Corps service, Caitlin worked as a Community Outreach Coordinator at Fairbanks Alaska’s Children’s Museum through AmeriCorps VISTA, the national service program.Interview Accession
