Interview Summary
This is an interview with audio engineer John Woram. Woram discusses his career and the recording methods across various recording studios during the 1950s and '60s. Woram discusses who was at RCA Victor Studios when he started working there in the late 1950s and the different recording technology magazines they distributed. Woram discusses the recording methods used at RCA Victor Studios during his time there in the 1960s. Woram discusses the atmosphere at RCA when stereo was introduced to the studios. Woram discusses his participation in the Audio Engineering Society and the Sapphire Club in New York. Woram discusses his salary at RCA Victor Studios and the unions for audio engineers and musicians. Woram discusses why he left RCA Victor Studios and chose to move on to Vanguard Records.
