Gerald Ross served Justice Reed in several capacities. He recalls getting books for Reed from the Library of Congress, the Supreme Court library, and the law library. He also talks about Reed's rice diet, and how he helped the justice prepare his lunch. During his time at the Supreme Court, Ross worked for Justice Minton as well, and he served as a tour guide. Some of the other topics that Ross mentions in the interview include Justice Hughes; Mrs. Reed; the annual law clerk dinners; The Brethren; and School District of Abington Township v. Schempp, a case involving prayer in school.
